Cold and grey with occasional flakes of snow and some big icy patches on back roads.

Nice ride, the boys wanting to keep up a good pace, on the flat at least. 31 miles

10 Jan 2013 - CTC Ride to Ickleton & Barley

First time of leading!

15 or so riders, two joining at the coffee stop in Ickleton.

Cold and light fog, about 2 deg showing at the start and get even cooler, particularly after the lunch stop. First time of using the Garmin to guide the route but made the same mistake as Tuesday at Langley Upper Green where it had selected a route that was no more than a muddy track. Adrian took the helm and got us back to the route, at the expense of a few extra miles. Seemed like quite a long stretch to Barley, with most of the group staying together but four going more slowly, led by Mick Cousins. We'd been at the pub for a while before they arrives, and even then Barbara was a bit behind.

Decided to come back as directly as possible, so Flint Cross, Fowlmere, Thriplow and back to Hauxton where I'd left the car.

45 Miles

Jan 2013 - Solo to Ickleton and Barley

Prospecting ride in preparation for leading this route on Thursday.

Nice quiet ride, stopping at The Chequers in Barley for a pint and check-up that they're okay for us to eat on Thursday. Nice ladies including Diane who used to work at the golf club.

37 miles

6 Jan 2013 - Solo to Ashwell and Sandon

Continuing nice weather so intended to do the circuit round from Ashwell to Barkway and back. Missed a turn after taking sign for Kelshall and ended up on the A505.

So turned past The Jester and on via Steeple Morden and Shingay. Out onto A1198 for a perilous few miles to the Whaddon turn.

32 miles.

3 Jan 2012 - With CTC to St Ives

Nice day, ensuring lots of people came out. 15 started from Haslingfield and few more joined at the coffee stop in Abantu coffee shop in Bourne.
On to St Ives where the river was very full. Crossed over near Houghton Mill and stopped for lunch at the Three Horseshoes. Nice panini and glass of beer.
Rode part way with the group on way back but Sue and I turned off and came bacl through Conington and Bourne and Haslingfield. So three time over Barrington Hill in one day!

63 miles
