14 Jan - Waresley and back, circular route. 30 miles

Bright and relatively calm, cold but too much so.  Went up the hill past Wimpole on the way, then back via the Sandy road and 1198 to Whaddon.

Didn't go on the longer ride because of things needing to be done, like more decorating of the office.

13 Jan - Another local ride with Sue, 22 miles

Emeregency text from Sue because she'd put on a new tyre and the wheel wouldn't go round!  Too big diameter to clear the front mudguard so took it off.  Then went on a ride across to Orwell and Wimpole, down Hatley Hill and across to Abington Piggotts and Bassingbourn.

Ran out of time at that pace because I had to be back by 12 for the man from Melbourn Flooring, so shot off in Bassingbourn leaving Sue to make her own way home.  Collected car from Sue's and got home at 11.45 only for the man to follow me down the drive as he was ahead of schedule.

7 Jan - Local loop with Sue, 24 miles

Nice after a horrible start to the day.  Kept in touch with Sue by text and went out after lunch, meeting at her house.

Down and over the A505 then round via Duxford and Hauxton.  Stopped off for tea and Christmas cake at hers.

2 Jan - Thursday Ride to Gamlingay via Coton - 53 miles

Averil's circuitous route from Haslingfield to first stop at Malton GC.  Went up to Barton then out on the St Neots road to the turning for Caldecote.  Back to Haslingfield via Kingston.

Went usual Wimpole, Hatleys road to Gamlingay but held up by a Tony's puncture and Andy's derailleur problem.  Bought snack and sat outside with several others, including Mike CC whose chain had been slipping due to a damaged link.  Expert repairs seemed to do the trick.  Back with Nick after a short stop, with many still in The Cock having lunch.

29 Dec - Waresley 30 miles

Sunday ride with Barbara.  Dry and bright, just a few degrees positive.  Stopped off at Waresley for a cuppa and warm up.

Back via the rough road to Wendy, then the 1198 to the Whaddon turn.

19 December - Thursday Ride, Newport & Barley - 36 miles

Just a few degrees positive but not much wind so comfy riding conditions apart from wet and muddy roads everywhere.

Rode over to Dorringtons at Newport on my own, meeting up with quite a large group there.  Continued on to Barley via Clavering but decided to come straight home rather than stop for lunch, mainly because it would have taken a while and it would have cooled down.

17 December - Waresley and Moggerhanger - 48 miles

Calm day but only a few degrees above zero.  Not cold because very little wind.

Took the Ridgeback, which has the larger tyres and more robust mudguards needed for winter riding.

On from Waresley with 11 in total, most on a Tuesday ride for ages with everyone making the most of the mild conditions.

Down Tempsford hill to the crossing (closed, as usual) then round through Blunham to Moggerhanger.  First time there and a nice addition to the venues list.

Back via Sandy and Gamlingay.
